>white panda – stereo hands

I have to get some dance music on here again.  It’s been a pretty chill week which is why I’ve been putting more slow, acoustic songs on the site.  However, it’s Thursday… Which means tomorrow’s Friday… which means I better get my act together and find some weekend music.

I have a few of White Panda’s mashups but haven’t been too crazy about them.  I just ran across “Stereo Hands” which is a mashup of Waka Flocka and Edward Maya.  I am pleasantly surprised at how well the two blend together.

Weekend playlist will be here by tomorrow.

>the ultimate mashup

I love mashups.  Everyone knows that.  They’re not for everyone, but I really can’t get enough of them.
I ran across this song when putting together my tailgating playlist, and I immediately fell in love.  You really have to watch the video as you listen to truly appreciate this creation.  I’m a big fan of Earworm and have gathered his United States of Pop singles that he releases at the end of each year.  He puts together all the big songs of the year into one song (see after the video below).  Norwegian Recycling has really stepped up to the plate with this track.  I think that using Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” as the main song in the background was smart.  Just sit back and enjoy.

I’m sure half the reason why I like Hoodie Allen is because his name is a fun spin on the name Woody Allen.  I’m not a fan of all of his mashups, but I’ve listened to the track “Swimming With Sharks” a few times and can’t get it out of my head.  The wonderful VV Brown’s original “Shark in the Water” is featured as the base for Hoodie Allen’s track.  The song is bubbly and energetic and makes you want to tap your feet along to the beat.

>500 days of … what?

>i think by now, many of you have seen or heard about the movie ‘500 days of summer.’  in the music blog world, the movie gained a lot of attention for its solid soundtrack which included artists like regina spektor, temper trap, feist, and of course — she & him (appropriately so since zooey is in the movie…)

apparently they forgot to put lil’ wayne on the soundtrack.

just kidding.

or am i?

http://twitter.com/mysickuncle decided to take the entire ‘500 days of summer’ soundtrack and mash it with lil’ wayne songs.  for some reason, i’m such a sucker for lil’ wayne.  it’s pretty crazy how a lot of his raps and beats can be mashed with so many songs.  i don’t necessarily enjoy each and every one of the songs, but the effort was totally worth it:
